What Your Day Looks Like

The ideal Product Manager should love working with entrepreneurs, product designers, product teams, and factories to help our clients bring their new product to market.  They will manage development, prototyping, and manufacturing new products.  They will build and strengthen relationships with our clients and factories to improve the experience and outcome of working with us. 

 

The ideal candidate will be able to manage complex projects from concept to completed manufacturing for several products at once. They will need a strong ability to follow through with details. They will also need strong organizational and interpersonal skills to excel in this role as well as a highly motivated, do-it-yourself individual who thrives while working on challenging projects.

 

Specifically, they are responsible for:
  • Helping develop products, recommending materials, and construction techniques that meet design expectations and meet or exceed gross margin targets.

  • Leading factory price negotiations, managing target manufacturing prices, and hitting target margins.

  • Planning and tracking the development schedule of all products to ensure a timely completion following the product development calendar.

  • Sourcing materials and suppliers in international markets.

  • Performing competitor and market research making sure our clients’ product line outshines competitor’s products.

  • Working with product designers, clients, and factories to meet design criteria through clear analysis, documentation, communication, and adherence to documented standards.

  • Working with product designers, clients, and factories to keep everyone aligned and obtain necessary approvals for product technical details and assure the accuracy of product description.

  • Maintaining the specifications of the products, publishing, and maintaining all production records, tech packs, and samples associated with the product and related programs.

  • Working closely with our Chinese office and manufacturers to develop new materials, construction techniques, processes, and samples used to create new and innovative products.

  • Overseeing quality assurance before products are released to market.

  • Managing, guiding, and communicating with our Chinese office, and travelling to factories periodically.

  • Performs these and other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications:
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in product development and/or product management or graduation from a speciality Product Design program.

  • Strong ability to communicate ideas in a visual format.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a multi-task environment.

  • Exceptional problem solving skills.

  • Detail and result oriented.

  • Must be self-sufficient and capable of making senior-level decisions without guidance of other executives.

  • Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with a diverse group of internal and external contacts.

  • Must be willing to have hands in various parts of small business, pitch-in and help out, as well as be able to work in a fast paced, fun and intense environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Who We Are

Product EVO is a product development company based in St. George, UT, right outside of Zion National park. We work behind the scenes for many growing consumer product brands from around the country to help them develop and manufacture their products. We develop and manufacture products like backpacks, multi-tools, water filtration systems, roof racks, and housewares.

 

Salary and Position Details

This is an in-house position and candidates must be willing to commute to the St. George, UT office on a daily basis. Direct applicants only. This position has an annual base salary based on experience of $50 - $60k plus benefits, bonuses of $5 - $15k per year, 14 paid days off per year, and paid holidays (10 per year). Some evening/night hours will be required due to the nature of working internationally. This position is at-will employment.
